The Area

Beech is a small village in north eastern Hampshire, a couple of miles from the historic market town of Alton. We have our own Abbey, Chapel, Forestry and unlimited access to the open countryside. The surrounding area was home to Jane Austen, Gilbert White and the ill fated 'Sweet Fanny Adams' . The Watercress Line, which runs between Alresford and Alton should be of great interest to enthusiasts of the steam era, and the town has a history of brewing dating back centuries. Alton town is close to the source of the River Wey.

The surrounding area has many beautiful old villages and there is no shortage of walking and cycling through and around these, including extensive off road routes for hikers, horse riders and mountain bikers. Check our links for a full guide to all of the areas attractions.
